The debut from these Swedish rockers sees them well within the typical L.A. Sleaze / Glam Metal genre and although their sound is hardly revolutionary, they do it better than some of the others that jumped onto the bandwagon. Borrowing from a lot of other artists, particularly the Hair Metal stalwarts, they concoct a decent sound which gives little indication of their Swedish roots as they sit well with the late 80's groups just getting into the scene before it's decline a couple of years later.

'Bob City' kicks us off on a solid footing, quite suggestive of 'Gun's N' Rose' with the screechy vocals and raw, punchy approach, decent stuff though and a strong, entertaining opener. Better still is the 'Mötley Crüe' style hard rocking 'Don't care 'Bout Nothin'', the strongest cut present that could quite easily grace one of their albums. This up tempo jewel rides upon a sublime rolling rhythm and features intricate guitaring and a powerful well sung chorus. 'Shout it Out' opens strongly with a nice axe work intro, but goes down hill when the Rap like vocals cut in, chorus wise this is a strong fist raiser with a solid groove throughout, overall a decent enough effort but a little too inconsistent and repetitive for my liking. Back on track is the sleazy 'Squeezin' Teazin'' a track reminiscent of 'Cinderella', quite simplistic in nature but an enjoyable journey with some nice licks from 'Harry H. Cody'. Next up is an instrumental titled 'The Explorer' a pleasant guitar fuelled track which blends touches of Neo-classical with more traditional fret work. Regrettably side two isn't up to the first, the opening cut 'Nowhere Fast' is a fairly run-of-the-mill affair, lyrically predicable and fairly dull, while 'Dirt Talk' is poorly penned with a listless plod. Much better is the mid tempo 'I'm your Love', lyrically a big improvement with sharp vocals supported by tasty guitar licks and solos slightly reminiscent of 'George Lynch's' work. Last up is 'Nervous' a track with potential but just doesn't quite make the mark, musically it's fairly strong, but it comes unstuck with the shoddy backing vocals which add nothing to the song.

'Shotgun Messiah' came on the scene a bit too late to make a real impact on the genre but this is a decent enough debut, that should interest those like me who get a kick from the Glam / Hair Metal of the 80's.
