Ozzy's last album of the 80's and his first outing with guitarist 'Zakk Wylde', after the departure of 'Jake E. Lee'. The new guitarist injects a bit more venom into the tracks and this goes along way towards making 'No Rest for the Wicked' one of the most uncompromising albums since 'The Blizzard of Ozz'. Thankfully the brilliant guitaring distracts from the lyrics as this must be one of Ozzy's weakest albums lyrically. Vocally however I think 'Ozzy' was at his peak around this time and he turns in one of his best performances.

The Infectious 'Miracle Man' starts us off, a cracking number that sports one of the most hypnotic choruses you will hear, the axe work is blistering with solos reminiscent of the late, great 'Randy Rhoads', the quirky overdubs also make for a nice addition. Less potent is 'Devil's Daughter', although the strafing fret work is again a joy, the lyrics are unimaginative and predictable, also bringing the track down are the awful baby / farmyard sounds mid track- what the hells all that about?. The compilation favourite 'Crazy Babies' doesn't really excite me either, again the song writing is below par and although there's plenty of solid rhythm and axe work, its a fairly lacklustre affair. Better is 'Breaking all the Rules' with its crunching riffs, steadfast vocals and catchy chorus, but topping that is 'Bloodbath in Paradise' a song which really rocks with vengeance and although it could probably do without the demonic "Arnold Schwarzenegger" intro, its a 'Zakk Wylde' driven gem. Next up is 'Fire in the Sky' a slower track which to me sound like a radio friendly snooze fest, a crawling statically paced number that really lacks some shredding. 'Tattooed Dancer' definitely isn't short of shredding, and 'Zakk Wylde' owns this number as it's another lyrically disappointing effort. 'Demon Alcohol' closes the album, a fair rocker omitting some more quirky penmanship.

Overlooking some weak song writing, this is still decent Ozzy and the addition of the 'Zakkster' is a good move because, he just gets better and better.
