'Invasion of your Privacy' is the second full release from the often overlooked Hair Metal specialists 'Ratt', and this release follows very closely in the footsteps of 'Out of the Cellar'. Regrettably it doesn't equal the success of its predecessor, as it lacks the catchy hooks and melodies exhibited on 'Ratt's' full debut. Despite this it's a very consistent album and in all honesty I don't think there's a poor song present, but on the same note, not too many songs really scream out at you like they did on the debut.

Things start off very convincingly with the lively riff driven 'You're in Love', a pleasant opener, that while repetitive is pretty catchy, there's a couple of flashes of quality fret work and 'Pearcy's' sometimes suspect vocals sound strong and convincing. Following on strongly is the pulsating mid tempo rocker 'Never use Love', an enjoyable journey graced with a few tasty licks along the way- the post chorus guitaring is particularly impressive. Next up is the single release 'Lay it Down', a respectable if not simplistic number, that while at times repetitive, still an enjoyable affair. 'Give it All' ensues and in truth is fairly run-of-the-mill for 'Ratt', basic, couple of nice hooks hear and there, but not one of the best, the guitar solo is pretty decent though as are 'Pearcy's' vocals on the chorus. The pace drops for the acoustic come electric 'Closer to my Heart', a balladsy song that while far from poor fails to standout, while 'Between the Eyes' is slightly brisker but doesn't leave any lasting memories. Improvements are made with 'What you Give is what you Get', a nice sleazy 'Ratt' stable, graced with a solid, sing-a-long chorus and choice guitar licks from 'Crosby' and 'De Martini'. Better still is the carefree rocker 'Got me on the Line', which is braced by a solid driving rhythm throughout, improved lyrics and overall just an enjoyable Hair Metal ride. Another stable takes the shape of 'You Should Know by Now' a strong light-hearted mid tempo number, while 'Dangerous but Worth the Risk' has a catchy chorus, sweet guitar solos and sharp vocals.

'Invasion of your Privacy' might not be up to 'Out of the Cellar' and it's a little lacking in content coming in at only 36 minutes, but it's still a good slice of Hair Metal 'Ratt' style.
