Sadly the last studio album from 'Accept', but in all honesty by '96 the best days were well behind them. 'Predator' continues in the vein of the last two albums with 'Udo' back at the helm, displaying plenty of effort and commitment but ultimately the material is sadly lacking. There's a couple of glimpses of past glories, while 'Peter Baltes's' vocal skills are put to good use, but some of the filler present is plain weak and the more experimental songs are real dross.

First up is the 'AC/DC' sounding 'Hard Attack', a decent opener with strong pulsating rhythm and forceful vocals, which is unfortunately let down by the boring lyrics and ropy sounding gang style backing vocals. Much better and cleverly worked is 'Crossroads' a song most significant for featuring 'Peter Baltes' sharing vocal duties with 'Udo', musically there is slight Eastern / mysterious feel that combines with the contrasting vocals for a solid effort. 'Making me Scream' continues with the mystical / Arabic style but regrettable lacks the refinement of the previous track and soon descends into a murky modern sounding number that fails to impress. Even less overwhelming is the crude and damn right poor 'Diggin' in the Dirt', with shockingly awkward backing vocals on the dismal chorus- Plain Bad. Thankfully the next track is a hidden gem and in my opinion the best present, 'Lay it Down' features 'Peter Baltes' on vocals throughout and does a splendid job on this gritty, hard hitting plodder. In all honesty this sounds nothing like 'Accept', but doesn't disguise the fact that this is an excellent track further fuelled by some great 'Wolf Hoffmann' guitar work. 'Peter Baltes' continues lead vocal duties on 'It ain't over Yet' and as with the previous cut, he does a decent job, this slow groover while nothing great is far from a poor track. Things go down hill again with the title track, which is a sort of Nu / Death Metal inspired number which is pretty horrific. More in the traditional 'Accept' style is the fast paced 'Crucified', pretty basic but the chorus comes across like a sledgehammer and combines with some energetic rhythm work and 'Udo's' cutting vocals for a solid effort. Next up is the directionless 'Take out the Crime' a disjoined, dull affair with poor lyrics and is only notable for some nice guitar licks and solos along the way. Better is the 'AC/DC' style groover 'Don't give a Damn' a lively paced rocker, which highlights 'Udo's' rugged vocals and the trademark gang backing chants, while featuring some classically inspired instrumental work. The pace drops for the decently penned 'Run Through the Night' a fairly well worked effort with strong chorus and 'Udo' on solid form. Unfortunately there's not a hope in hell for the last track 'Primitive' which is just shocking with its Rap like approach and lousy chorus.

Thankfully 'Udo' reformed '.U.D.O.' shortly after 'Accept' disbanded and continues to fly the flag for quality German Metal with more than a nod to his former band.
