Talk about wasted opportunities, it's disappointing that this is all they could muster up after the massive 'Sacred Heart' tour. Don't get me wrong this is a good live recording but it could have been great, six tracks from a career that included three 'Rainbow', two Sabbath and up to this point, three 'Dio' albums. Why didn't they make it a full album's worth of material instead of an E.P. This is also the first release to feature guitarist 'Craig Goldy' on the only non live song 'Time to Burn', all the other live offerings include original axe man 'Vivian Campbell'.

'King of Rock and Roll' kicks of the E.P. in solid fashion and while it strays little from the original it's still an enjoyable romp. Even better though is the powerful version of 'Rainbow in the Dark', the guitar solo is a blistering pleasure and 'Ronnie's' vocals are commanding on this fist raising anthem. Fine work is also displayed on the epic 'Scared Heart', 'Vivian Campbell' adds a few extra twists along the way and a nice touch is adding the closing section from 'The Last in Line'. Squeezed in between the live tracks is 'Time to Burn', a fairly Innocuous mid tempo number, that while not disappointing is nothing to "write home about". The best track has to go to the 9 minute medley, that features cracking versions of 'Rock 'n' Roll Children', 'Long Live 'n' Rock' and 'Man on a Silver Mountain', and features 'Ronnie' singing his heart out, as he always does live. The album closes with a customary gutsy rendition of 'We Rock'.

'Dio' fans will want a copy, but more occasional listeners would be better off with the double live album 'Dio's Inferno The Last in Live'.
