Tesla

Top American band named after inventor 'Nikola Tesla', who hit fame in the mid to late 80's playing a blues influenced Hard / Metal Rock. Although usually lumped together with the 'Hair Metal' scene, Tesla where different, firstly their style was different and they didn't bow to commercialism and recorded four cracking studio albums all in a similar vein. A notable album was 'Five Man Acoustical Jam' as it set a trend for live acoustical sets that were before unheard of. The early 90's introduction of 'Grunge' caused a decline in popularity and combining that with guitarist 'Tommy Skeoch's' addiction to tranquillisers, Tesla called it a day in 95'. The band reunited in 2000, and the following year released their first live album 'Replugged Live', and three years later their first studio album in 10 years 'Into the Now'.
