Scorpions

Extremely Successful 'German Hard Rock' group formed in 69' by 'Rudolf Schenker' and later joined by younger brother 'Michael', released their first album in 72'. 'Michael Schenker' later joined the 'English Hard Rock' group 'UFO' in 73' and was replaced by 'Uli Jon Roth'. Achieved moderate success in the 70's, but it wasn't until the early 80's that things really started to take off. A string of fine albums including 'Lovedrive', 'Animal Magnetism' and 'Blackout' brought world wide recognition, with a blend of crafted rockers and solid ballads. Later releases included more laid back material and although 'Wind of Change' was a massive hit (coinciding with the Berlin Wall coming down) their popularity was on the decline throughout the 90's. Still recording and touring today and respected as a great live act with a memorable back catalogue.
