Founded in 1976 by guitarist 'Mark Reale' and had success with a run of strong albums throughout the rest of the 70's and early 80's despite an ever changing line-up. Disbanded in 83' as success with new vocalist 'Rhett Forrester' failed to materialise and 'Mark Reale' went on to form the 'Mark Reale Project' only to reformed 'Riot' in 86'. This new lineup included vocalist 'Tony Moore' and a new harder edged sound was developed, he however only lasted two studio albums and 'Mike DiMeo' was brought in for 94's 'Nightbreaker'. The lineup has remained pretty constant since and although frequently overlooked have continued cutting respectable albums through the 90's and beyond. Original vocalist 'Guy Speranza' who lead the band through their most fruitful early period, sadly lost his battle with cancer in November 2003'. 2006 sees the band releasing 'Army of One' with new drummer 'Frank Gilchriest' of 'Virgin Steel' fame.
