Guns N' Roses
The rawest and extremist of the 'Hair Metal' genre, heavily influenced by 'Aerosmith' and similar in approach to 'Motley Crue'. Were propelled to legendary status by their record breaking debut 'Appetite for Destruction', which featured the classic line up of 'Axl Rose', 'Slash', 'Izzy Stradlin', 'Duff McKagan' and 'Steven Adler'. But all was not well in the camp and 1990 saw 'Adler' fired with 'Stradlin' following the year after. The 90's saw the decline in popularity of 'Metal' for 'Grunge' and 'Alternative' and 'Guns N' Roses' were on the descent, so they turned to an album of punk covers, but this was met with mixed reviews and the inevitable happened, influential guitarist 'Slash' left. The group has been in limbo since with 'Axl Rose' being the only original member and new faces coming and going frequently, a new album has been in the promise for years, but as yet nothing has surfaced.
