After a very successful stint with 'Deep Purple' and a mediocre spell with his own group the 'Ian Gillan Band', 'Gillan' returned to his roots and formed the hard rocking 'Gillan'. Sporting flashy guitarists 'Bernié Torme' and later 'Janick Gers', later of 'Iron Maiden' fame, and 'Gillan' himself being one on the best vocalist in the business, produced some memorable music in the early 80's. The band was disbanded in 82' as 'Ian Gillan 'joined 'Black Sabbath' for the one-off 'Born Again', he later rejoined 'Deep Purple' for their mid 80's come back.
