Bruce Dickinson

Joined NWOBHM band Samson as vocalist in 1980 under the name 'Bruce Bruce' and was lead singer on two of their best albums 'Head On' and 'Shock Tactics'. Joined legends 'Iron Maiden' in late 81' as their lead vocalist 'Paul Di'Anno' was asked to leave due to an increasing alcohol problem. He immediately fitted in and his first contribution was on the famed album 'The Number of the Beast'. After this release 'Iron Maiden' went stellar and became probably the best known metal band in the world, with a string of strong albums including 'Powerslave', 'Live after Death' and 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son'. Bruce released his own solo album in 1990, but still continued with Iron Maiden, however their popularity was on the decline and the inevitable happen in 93' and Bruce left. Bruce continued to release throughout the 90s, but his popularity only really came to the fore when he toughened up his sound on 97's Accident of Birth (aided by 'Maiden' guitarist 'Adrian Smith'). He has since released 98's 'Chemical Wedding' and a live album in 99' and rejoined 'Maiden', but still has intentions of continuing his solo work.
